Hugh Jackman and Seed Productions partner John Palermo are already ramping up a sequel for the "Wolverine" star.
Fox and Seed are in development on a sequel to "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," which topped the domestic box office over the weekend.
The Seed partners have begun planning the sequel, which they are squarely focusing on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series, and whose Japanese locale was teased after the film's final credits. A writer has yet to be hired. Seed will produce.
Thoughts:
I'm sure Wolverine fans will rejoice to know that their will be more stories featuring the beloved X-Men character, but I fell alittle different. I wouldn't want to see another Wolverine movie unless their is a solid script and director taking charge. X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a disappointment and its safe to say, we don't want another one like that.

Given the big opening weekend, I'm sure the announcement of a sequel is no shock (From what I'm told - there was even an easter egg scene after the credits tipping the direction of the next movie).
I for one wouldn't mind a break from Wolverine for a movie or two. Hopefully before W2 goes ahead, we can get the much rumored "X Men - The First Class"
Agree, it would be nice to have a break from another Wolverine movie. I doubt we would get First Class first since thats still in early development with a script thats not yet finished, but who knows. I'm curious to see the Magneto spinoff movie thats been in the works for sometime now. I heard they are trying to get it out by 2010 or 2011. Heres hoping they can get a good director this time as opposed to Gavin Hood.
