It's one of the most exciting films of next year, and we have the first images of Johnny Depp and Christian Bale in Michael Mann's Public Enemies.
Described as a sort of Heat II, the film tells the story of charismatic criminal gang leader John Dillinger (Depp) and determined lawman Melvin Purvis (Bale), the FBI agent tracking him down. Also in the cast is Marion Cotillard as Dillinger's girlfriend, Channing Tatum, Giovanni Ribisi, David Wenham, Leelee Sobieski and Emilie de Ravin, with Billy Crudup as the legendary J. Edgar Hoover.
The Universal Pictures release is slated for a July 1, 2009 release.
Thoughts:
This is one of those movies that I have been keeping close attention too. I think the cast looks great and I'm sure director Michael Mann will deliver another great film. 2009 cant come soon enough.
